ABOUT THE CLASS: BASIC DRAWING SKILLS: PORTRAIT, FIGURES, LANDSCAPE

Tired of only being able to draw stick figures?! This is an ideal class for beginner artists to gain some fundamental art techniques that will dramatically improve creative self-confidence! Through a structured series of step by step lessons, students will learn basic mark making before moving on to shading cubes and spheres, drawing animals and architecture, basic composition, geometric perspective (the illusion of 3D space on a page) and drawing from real-life.

SUPPLIES REQUIRED: Pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser and 20 sheets of photocopy paper.

Emily Carr instructor Michael Markowsky will guide you step by step from basic concepts to create finished drawings in a relaxed and encouraging live online class.

How to Paint (Lesson #1): The Colour Wheel

Artist Michael Markowsky teaches you how to paint with acrylics! He begins with a quick introduction to what paint actually is, and then demonstrates how to mix colours and paint a colour wheel. Future episodes will feature tutorials that cover more advanced techniques, but if you’ve never painted, this is a great place to start!
